I've had the same problem, I'm married to a Thai and I'm on a non o, phone up Kasikorn and tell them what visa you are on and tell them the bank wont open you an account and kick off with them and they will sort it out for you. They should ask you to send them an email with a copy of your visa. If all fails and you are desperate for a bank account, Kasikorn in Tesco lotus in lomsak, phetchabun will open you an account with a non o, it's about 3 hours away from khonkaen but I had the same problem and just phoned them and gave them a right headache

No chance in Bangkok, they flatly refused telling me that I need to go phetchabun immigration as my wife's tabbieban is from phetchabun and not even a hotel booking was good enough, what's happens if we were traveling around Thailand? Only could go phetchabun for the extension? Thai officials love their tabbiebans!

Thanks, we are going to try, I've never been asked for proof of residence in Bangkok but that was 2 years ago! Just lazy to do a border run, but if Bangkok is a no no too it will be phetchabun immigration on Monday!

Phetchabun, but I live in the middle of the sticks and it's about a 2 hour drive to the immigration office and we are spending a few nights in Bangkok before we head back home, we arrive in Bangkok at 5am in the morning and we can't check into our hotel till 12 so I thought it might be easier just get the extension out of the way in the morning
