Hello, I’ll be applying for my first extension at Phuket immigration and their full requirements are here: [[members only]/)

Before I apply, I’ll go and check latest requirements but wondering about this one as I’d guess plenty of people wouldn’t have either of these....

"*Rental contract or proof of ownership if applicant owns their residence*.”

I stay at my partners family home (they own it). Would I need anything instead, like a letter from the owner?

Thanks.

Hi all. I plan to return to Thailand later this year, on a 90 day non-O visa acquired while in Australia, and then when here in Chiang Mai will go through the hoops of acquiring a bank account, do the 800k deposit, and apply for a 12 month extension.

I've asked 2 agents here about requirements for that 12 month extension, particularly on the "proof of residence" front, and received conflicting info:

Agent #1 said: A lease isn't required, just a TM30, so technically a hotel booking is fine.

Agent #2 said: For residency, hotel booking is not allowed since you need TM30 (At least 3-6months)

I have seen elsewhere (Siam Legal) that a "at least 6 month lease" was required.

Any thoughts, or better, direct experience on this front?

Hello everyone! I'm currently applying for workation DTV in Malaysia and they are asking for so many things after the initial application.

I work remotely for a company and they ask me to provide the official registration and contract with apostille, so I'd need a notary too, so much bureaucracy compared to what I'm reading here...

I think I chose the wrong embassy, but I guess I'd have to go with it now that I've already applied.

On another requirement, they ask me to provide "Proof of prolonged residence in Thailand for at least 6 months", I've signed a shared contract in June 2025 for a year with possibility to extend even if I haven't been living there since June, but I prefer to have yearly contracts and keep the space rather than look for short terms when I arrive. Is this contract ok or could it raise some kind of "concern" and weaken my application?

I'm sure I have all the requirements but, since they are not always entirely clear, now I'm afraid to provide something "wrong" and then being rejected.

Or do they usually give chances to provide more docs/explanations if needed?

Thank you everyone for your support!

Hello! I've applied to DTV "workstation" in Malaysia, I have a fully remote job, so I thought it'd be straightforward but they are requesting so many documents.

I don't get why need the "proof of prolonged residence" for AT LEAST 6 MONTHS, but in any case, I rent an apartment together with a friend for the whole year as it's worth it even if not using it all year, would that work or weaken my application?

Also, I've got requested to provide job contract and company registration certified by the embassy in my home country, is this normal? They have payslips, bank statements and original contract already...why would need even more? Am I being rejected? Thanks!

Hi, I am from Hawaii, so have an American passport, & my husband is from Finland, Finnish passport, with a permanent resident green card for the US. We have been married 15 years & have both been living in Hawaii USA for 10 years.

We want him to apply as the main applicant (& me & our 3 children as dependents) for DTV digital nomad from our place of residence, which is Hawaii USA.

My question is, will they ask him for an airline ticket to show he lives here? Or will his state drivers license or utility bill be ok? We travelled to Thailand last June for 3 weeks & have been back here since, and we have not bought tickets back to Thailand, as we want to wait for approval for the DTV first.

Thank you!

I’m in the process of applying for my retirement visa and on the Thai website it asks for “Proof of permanent residence in the country where the application is submitted”. What is acceptable?

About the documents when applying for a visa and extension for being married to a Thai. How does it work when the Thai spouse's house book is for a property very far from where the couple are working and living? Does it matter?
