I'm married to a Thai and I am going to make an extension of stay based on income, but I've got to sort all my paperwork out for my embassy first, so the question is we are going on holiday to koh samuri for a few weeks and I am currently on a multi non o, can I extend my permission of stay for visiting my wife for an extra 60 days, even though we don't live in samuri? And can I extend before my current permission of stay expires?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about extending their stay by 60 days on a multi-entry Non-O visa while holidaying in Koh Samui with their Thai spouse. Comments indicated that it's possible to apply for this extension as long as the application is made within the appropriate timeframe of their current visa expiry. It was noted that applying outside their residential area might pose challenges, but Koh Samui's immigration does not require residency papers.

you can apply for that 60 day visit family extension at most immigration offices when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp (In Bangkok and Chiang Mai you can do it when you have 45 days or less left on your stamp)
Koh Samui don't ask for residence papers, so you can apply for the 60 days to visit your wife there. Be aware that you need your wifes housebook and copy of the original wedding certificate.
