i lived more than 5 years in philippines and have a number of things i don’t like there but there are a number of places to eat well in philippines.🇵🇭 i used to search out buffets there and they were exceptional. a number of fine restaurants and food court choices too. true is true and not true is also not true.

i was arrested in 2004 on my way to phuket for weed. deported right before the tsunami. probably saved my life, matter of fact. i came back in 2019. i was nervous in line at bkk airport waiting to get stamped at immigration but nothing came up. i’m on my third vacation now in krabi since the “event “.

i read your answer a couple times to make sense of it. the first part is just wrong. i’ve been retired over 20 years and spend my money in splurges. i would hate to die with lots of unspent money. but the 3d sentence … really loses me. it sounds like you are about to suggest an alternative but forget what you were going to say. is there something helpful you want to add…?

is don’t think u r so much older than me. you don’t write in all caps yet, 4 starters. 😆 i’m 68. fully retired no business ventures required. i have considered opening a bar with the idea of a sports bar w multiple screens but with reggae and classic rock and making enough to cover expenses and a good wage to the employees. but i don’t need to do anything but eat healthy and go to the gym. listen to music. watch movies. snl.

i don’t live in sihanoukville.. i didn’t say it’s the greatest place to retire. i don’t do casinos. garbage is not scattered about with people snacking and tossing wrappers and bottles on the ground anywhere i’ve been in siem reap or phnom penh. i live in phnom penh. i go to aeon mall 1 daily to use the gym and at the grocery store at the end of the night much of the food prepared that day is half price. i send money to my family in the philippines from there monthly at the bank. while there i see the tellers count $10,000 stacks of $100 bills and make literally MOUNDS of those $10,000 banded stacks. no guards. in philippines in that situation there would be large groups of heavily armed men menacing onlookers, ready for action, fingers on the trigger. i imagine the safety would be off. the newspapers are full of crime stories and murders . cambodia is serene in comparison and easy to get apps for cheap transport and food delivery. a firestick and good wifi and you get youtube and movies and tv shows for free. you can get smart phone service as low as $6 a month. wide range of prices for condos. situated conveniently for travel. i don’t experience any corruption. i moved to cambodia end of last august. cambodia is affordable and not intimidating. the people are helpful and generally happy . it’s easy living simply and saving enough for luxury when you do travel.

you can also retire in cambodia and it is easy, affordable and clean compared to philippines. and unlike philippines, very few guns. low crime rate.
