Hi Nigel, Its because an Irish driving licence is a bilingual/ dual language licence. There is English already. Theyve just not noticed it ,and they did notice the Irish on it, so automatically think it needs to be translated. It doesnt.
I had the same issue years ago, but when they understood it was accepted. I've pmd you a longer more detailed answer with some ideas about what to do 👍
They are empty boxes. Go in and let them open the packages. Watch their eyes light up when they think they are in for a massive import tax payout. Ask them to open the boxes . Video it all and please share 😃
. I had a feeling that was the case when I got a year extension based on marriage a few year ago. My current stamp will expire on the 29th, so one day short unfortunately.
On our last visit my wife was told by the IO that I could get another 60 day visit family extension after this first one expires on the 29th May. The IO actually said it's possible to do many 60 day visit family extensions in one year.
We are going out this afternoon to confirm that and get the newest list for the documents required for the years extension of stay based on marriage. I'll update how it goes and I can post the list if it might be useful to anyone trying to do the same at Chaneg Wattana in the near future. Thanks again
. Any idea if when I go to get the 1 year stamped in my passport if I need to show the funds are still in my account ? I'd rather hold minimal currency in Thai baht at the moment with the current situation. I guess I can ask this when we visit immigration anyway. Thanks again for all your help with this query and previous ones. Stay safe
Late update for Friday March 27th: We arrived at 5:40 a.m and we were finished by 10 a.m. I did have to cancel the non-b before I was able to apply for 60 days extension of stay based on visiting Thai family which was granted. All very fast and efficient considering I had two things to do. Also it was the first morning that people with tourist visas were asked to go to a different location so we were lucky in that respect.
If you are doing 90 day reports it means you are on a long term extension. Read the post again. You can do your 90 day report using the online sytem. If not then you will need to do it in person at the immigration office.
