TLDR : Answer Summary
You can replace your Thai marriage certificate at any Amphur in Bangkok, not just where it was originally issued. It's recommended to bring your passport and it may help to have your Thai wife accompany you, as many documents are based on her records. Additionally, you can also request an English version of the certificate.

You can get a copy at any of 928 District Offices (878 Districts in the Provinces + 50 Districts of Bangkok Metropolis) throughout the country

You can also get an English version of it issued by the District Office (even Red-Stamped English version)

As for what you need exactly, at least your passport.... having your Thai wife go along will probably make things go smoothly as most documents are based on a Thai citizen's records per se....

. Went to district office today. Got a copy of Kor Ror 2 no problems but they said they cannot reproduce Kor Ror 3 (the rose bordered certificate.). Immigration require it for spouse visas and extensions.. need to site originals and copies of both.

Immigration does normally NOT want to see the Kor Ror 3. Normally, they are fine if you bring a fresh printout of the Kor Ror 2 - the marriage registry document for 20.- THB every year. The reason is easily explained: You could actually still apply for your yearly extension of stay on an age old rose bordered marriage certificate, even after you have been divorced some time ago! That's why only the fresh Kor Ror 22 printout counts as proof that you are still married

. From official imm website. Kr2 is marriage registration. Kr3 is marriage certificate.

you could CHEAT Immigration really BAD if they want to see just the Kor Ror 3. You could be divorced since 10 years and still show that old marriage certificate on Immigration, to get your extension inked with 400K Baht

. I agree with you but tell that to immigration, they're the ones who didn't see it 7 times... 555.

They wanted to see both but didn't notice the kr2 was never updated yearly.

Hard to follow their rules when they ignore them too.

"They wanted to see both but didn't notice the kr2 was never updated yearly." . . . . . the amazing Thai logic ? 😂

. Yep.. 7 years in a row. This is what happens when govt departments don't communicate internally .

Took my Thai wife 5 minutes to open a bank account in Australia. Passport was all she needed. Why not the same here for us?

Using an agent to fund a visa or extension would land you and agent in jail for fraud in Australia too..

my bad! Not Kor Ror 22 but Kor Ror 2. The Kor Ror 22 (ค.ร.๒๒) is the form you get from the local Amphur (City Hall) when a Thai is married abroad and it registers the overseas marriage inside the country. . . so far the the official police order. Sadly, each Immigration office can pull their own interpretation out of their noses. Seems you are the victim of such a rogue interpretation

A Kor Ror 2 (ค.ร.๒) is the other certificate they give you all in thai that looks like a form. <- that is the one that many immigration offices want you to update every year at any Amphur to show you're still married

. Yes .I know now but .. I've done 7 extensions and never updated it. And imm have never said anything they ignored that but made a fuss about having original kor Ror 3.. I give up..

When we married, amphur gave both of us one ofeach . Also one of each in English. Imm wouldn't accept the English versions ..

. Then I need to ask immigration why the last 7 extensions that they wanted to see the kor ror 3 original every time.. and why they are ok seeing the kor ror 2 that I have never updated.. last 4 times the passport # on kr2 was also different because it expired and I replaced it 4 yrs ago.. They've also never visited our residence either.. so much for rules when they ignore them too

. I got a fresh kr2 today from district office for 10 baht. It just astounds me that they cannot reissue the kr3 too. Their answer was "only get one"

if your Thai wife is technologically inclined, then perhaps have her pull up the คร.3 (Rose Bordered Marriage Certificate) colour scanned copy in the ThaiD App and download the colour copy from the ThaiD App (you would need a Thai ID Card in order to use/register with the ThaiD App by yourself).

The ThaiD App is from DOPA, Ministry of Interior and has BORA documents and information of Thai citizens, such as Tabien Baan (Thai Household Book), สูติบัตร (Thai Birth Certificate), Thai Marriage Certificate, etc.

. Thankyou very much. I have a district office 100 meters from home so that makes life easier. Thanks again.
