What do I need to know about the TM30 when applying for a visa extension in Thailand?

If you're planning a visa extension in the near future, make sure you have an up to date tm30 done corresponding to your most recent entry stamp. They are now asking for them when applying for extensions.

There is now a new desk at immigration where you can do it yourself if your landlord is too lazy or unreliable. Theres also an online option too.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When planning to extend your visa in Thailand, ensure you have an up-to-date TM30, as it is now required by immigration offices. If your landlord is uncooperative, you can either visit the new desk at immigration to handle it yourself or complete the process online. Experiences shared suggest that enforcement may vary by location, with differing requirements reported. Additionally, there is a discussion around frustrations regarding landlord responsibilities and the impact on expats trying to comply with immigration rules.

Oh FFS people! Stop bitching and do what your local IO wants. No point arguing. It won't get you anywhere.

. Theres also the culture shock. Many expats (like us) come from countries where laws and govt services are far more exact and efficient. Also the total lack of road safety enforcement here still blows my mind. It takes a while to get used to but you have to or it will drive you bonkers πŸ˜‘.

Then theres the opposite. Things like manners, respect for elders and a sense of community are much stronger here in my experience.

yes mate. I learned very early that it takes less time and frustration just to shrug and go OK. Arguing takes up more time and money. I think most people have the view that Thailand is backward and needs educating or saving from itself. I believe it works fine and is more flexible than my own country (Australia) if I just go with the flow on any given day. One of the beautiful things about Thailand is its variability.

. Agree. The sooner people accept the way things are done here ,the easier living here becomes. Its about helping eachother navigate the constantly changing path.πŸ˜‰

Not you mate. Just sick of people bitching about doing a TM30 or saying it isn't needed or why should they have to do it etc. on many forums.

. Who's bitching and arguing ?

really doesnt make sense. due to a lazy landlord or the ones that dont care, we have to pay fines to immigration! why they dont charge the lazy landlords that do not give a shit instead?? bc it is their fault and responsibility and fine needs to go to them!
