Don't know if this is has been posted yet.

CHANGWATANNA IMMIGRATION OFFICE.

It's now 21 days consideration period instead of 30 days for a non O yearly extension. (spouse). I applied today and noticed it on my passport stamp. So return in 21 days not 30.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Changwatana Immigration Office has reduced the consideration period for a Non-O yearly extension (for spouse) from 30 days to 21 days, as reflected on the passport stamp of a recent applicant. This change may vary by location, as some users have reported different processing experiences in other offices, such as Phuket. Additionally, confusion exists regarding the 30-day processing timeline for retirement visa applications, highlighting the need for location-specific information and experiences.

Hi ,I am a bit confused about this . I applied for non o retirement on 25 may . Told I would receive a home visit from immigration . Nobody has been yet . I was also told to return to immigration on the 17 th June for the stamp . So is there normally 30 days from application to receiving the visa stamp ? If so what is the reason you have to apply for the non O with 15 days left on a tourist visa ?

@Russell ******
The OP is refering to the 30 days under consideration for a yearly extention of stay based on marriage. Totally different to the non imm O visa based on being over 50.

Oh understood Russell Blake but think it should be fine if they told you to come back for stamp...meaning it must already be approved. They are holding your passport or do you have it?

thanks. I still have my passport šŸ™

It was actually the last time I was there getting extension I was told to come back on /17 June for stamp , first time they just said come back from extension if you don't hear from us before šŸ™šŸ˜Ž

. Bangkok imm don't always do house visits. I'm on my 5th yearly extension. Previous 4 they didn't bother .I doubt they have the resources or logistics to do 100 a day in BBK. From what I hear they may on your first extension , or if it seems suspect.Smaller provincial offices always do house visits to my knowledge.

Regarding returning, when you apply they stamp you on for an extra period(21-30 days).

You return on that date and they stamp.you again for the remainder of the 365 days.

Date of return might vary if it falls on a weekend.

hi , thanks for the information.

Not sure what you mean stamp you on for extra period? I didn't get any stamp in my passport at all just a receipt for the 2000 baht . I was told that if I didn't hear from them before the 18th may ( final day of TR visa) to return for a Covid19 extension . Which I have done .

. If they deny you the extension when you return, they will grant you a 7 day extension stamp to give you time to leave or as you said, tell you to apply for covid ext. I believe you can't get a yearly extension on the back of a covid extension. You have to.leave and re enter on a fresh visa if that happens .You didn't get an extra stamp.because you still had enough time left on your visa to deal with it.

but they told me to get a Covid19 extension . I was well in the 15 day time frame , but they said the date we have for you is 17 June . If I don't hear from them before return on that date .

I had to get a Covid19 extension as I didn't hear from them . šŸ™ Thanks

. Ok. You need to ask them if you can apply for a yearly retirement extension whilst on and before your covid extension expires. I'm pretty sure you can't. I know I couldn't on a nonO spouse ext when I asked. Best to ask them directly as shit changes on a regular basis with imm here.

ok thanks. I think I will just leave it now as it's all done and I was only following there advice . All I was told I needed to do was make the application 15days before TR expiry which I did . But they have chosen a day 30 from the expiry of TR as my appointment to return šŸ˜ŽšŸ™

Russell Blake in Phuket I think it is 30 days...but doesn't really matter if it's 15...not having any negative impact on you, is it?
Russell *******
@Michelle ***********
only that I am still waiting for them to turn up and don't want to miss them. It was more trying to understand why you have to have 15 days left on your visa is it's not related to the time span in getting a new one.

It would have a impact on me if I am was unsuccessful and only found that out on the 17 th June meaning I would of overstayed 29 days .

@Russell ******
. You don't need to be there. As long as someone there verifies you live there it's OK. Even your neighbor can. They don't give you a time or date so they can't expect you to be there
****
.

And if you ate unsuccessful, they will give you a 7 days to leave stamp.

You should post where, it is not the same everywhere.

When we did it in Phuket, we did not get any under consideration stamp.

Location specific rules are quite common.

. Changwatanna. My 5th yearly extension. Last 4 were 30 days, not 21.

That may be an office specific thing. Which office did you use?

. Changwattana. I questioned the officer (because it was 30 days last 4 times) and she said they changed the law last month.. I can post a photo of my stamp if needed.
