I do a lot of 1 way flights. I bet that doesn't help. 😅

Flights all the time. I went to Cambodia in November. Leaving BKK, they asked me if I had a departure flight from Cambodia. Departing Cambodia, they asked if I had a departing flight from Thailand. They seem to be ramping up this part for sure.

Did you stay at the same place every time? Did you do hotels? Did your TM30 get filed if you stayed at a house? And how much was the shake down for? You are technically supposed to have a certain amount of cash on you, or you can be denied entry.

For me, I learned the normal everyday interaction phrases sawadee krup, cob coon krup etc. Then I started learning words. Not sentences. So, although I can't fully converse, I can get my point across in regular settings, and I can sometimes get the gist of a conversation. (I haven't learned anything new in about 6 months though, so I need to restart it).

But different people have different ways their brain wants to learn. And there is no way I could learn to write Thai. 🤣

I would assume the older of the passports should have been cancelled/cut? I am curious how you got 2?

It is good if you have $$$ you aren't worrying about. It also takes everything out of your hands as far as reporting etc. And apparently you get perks at immigration?

If you have the $$$ and are under 50, then definitely worth it if you want to be in Thailand as much as you can. I think if you are over 50, you may have a harder time justifying it. If over 50, and you are travelling a lot internationally, it may be beneficial.

You COULD PUT $$$ away instead of insurance. There are people who do that. But keep in mind that the older you get, the harder it is to get truely comprehensive insurance if you decide to change your mind.

From my experience, If you have an emergency, you will want to be taken to a private hospital. Nothing wrong with the public Thai hospitals, but the private ones, as you would expect, may have the more cutting edge tech in Thailand, and have more resources. If you are awake, they will ask you "Thai, or Private/foreign hospital". 2nd Question "insurance??". If you say no, they will ask you how you will pay. You would want to have that card on you. Your ability to show you can make the payment has a direct impact on where the ambulance will take you.

If you have to be admitted to the hospital, they will test you. If you are positive they will isolate you if you are in ICU, or put you in a private room in a general Ward. Otherwise, they will take normal precautions. They won't normally test you again.

Oh, please buy good health/travel insurance. Anything happens to you, the first question from paramedics/first responders is "Private or Thai Hospital ". 2nd Question is "Do you have insurance/How will you pay?"
