For those who got a DTV with a family, how did the financial requirements work? Did you need 500,000baht per adult or per family? (Family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids under 10) Washington DC embassy, if that matters.

Am I correct that the 90-day Non-O does not require health insurance and that there will be no insurance requirement when getting the annual extensions going forward?

Heyyy

Do you know if I can apply for a tourist visa (TR) to Thailand while I'm in Hong Kong? I'm not a Hong Kong resident, I'll be there on a tourist stamp, and I've read that to apply, I need proof of legal stay in HK, meaning at least a visa. Can anyone confirm that I can't apply on a tourist stamp?

Does anyone know if the Ho Chi Minh consulate is strict about the 3 month 500,000 THB requirement? Or is a final number ok? I don't see 3 months mentioned anywhere on there official web site. Any recent experience?

Thanks.

Does the entire 500,000 baht need to be in the same bank account?

I have my money spread across a few bank accounts that are in my name. Will it be ok to show 3 month records of all the bank accounts with the cash in it?

Thanks in advance

When entering Thailand with a Non-O Multiple Entry Visa (One Year Validity - Multiple Entries.)

Would it be a current Thai immigration rule that the holder of this Non-O Multiple Entry Visa (One Year Validity - Multiple Entries.) while in Thailand has to exit after 90 days and then re-enter to obtain another 90 day stamp for that re-entry.

Can this be a land border bounce, a land border exit and re-entry after a 24 hour stay outside Thailand, or requiring an outbound flight and then an inbound flight for re-entry to Thailand.

Dunno if anyone saw this on Instagram (I didn't, someone sent it to me :P )

This should be a lesson for ALL people who apply for a DTV :O

This person applied for their DTV either while they were inside thailand or they came here after they applied but before it was approved. Then they got the DTV approved

BUT

they didn't realize in order to activate it you have to exit (to get OFF the current stamp you're on) and then re-enter presenting the DTV when you stamp in (to get ON the new DTV).

They just thought they were good to go, and ended up overstaying their free stamp entry by more than 90 days <- which means when you leave the country you're automatically banned for a year :O

Lucky for them, they weren't caught out inside the country while on that overstay because an overstay like that gets an automatic FIVE YEAR ban if you're caught inside.

So moral of the story people;

If you apply for a DTV either while you're already in thailand <- (which is totally against the eVisa / DTV rules) or if you apply then come to thailand before it's approved (which is frowned upon but allowed) once you do get the visa approved make sure you bounce out/back to activate the DTV :)

Hard lesson for this kid to learn, but good news is, he's got a 5 year DTV and can still get 4 years of stay out of it once he stays out of the country for the year he's banned :O
