I have two questions that I have looked for and I couldn't find any answers. If I missed something, I apologize.

1. If I apply in my home country and leave to another country (not thailand) before the approval, could that be an issue? and

2. I was asked for 500k THB (12500 Euro) which is less than 500k THB - did anyone get approved with only 12500 Euro instead of the 500k thb equivalent in Euro? I could get the money, but I wouldn't sell more stocks to realize gains/pay taxes and have it sitting around in a savings account if it can be avoided :D

Thanks a lot

I’ve been reading comments; and advice given, for several months, from which I’ve learned loads.😊

It lead me to decide to apply for a Non-OA Visa, based on retirement, from the London Embassy, which I received yesterday.😃

I decided on this Visa, to avoid depositing 800,000Baht in a Thai bank, with little interest.

My plan is to exit Thailand, just before the Visa expires, re-enter on a Visa Exemption; and obtain a Non-O Visa, using the monthly deposit system.

Special thanks for the excellent advice given by Brandon Thurkettle and Stuart Cumming.

I’m so looking forward to getting back to the LOS next month.😃

The wife's got a uk residence permit that runs out in June. We are no longer going to reside uk. I'm british. However we need to go back in July for family gathering. So was planning on getting her 10 year tourist visa. Does anyone know if I would have issues. I think I read somewhere can't do a visa for 6 months after one expires? I know this a thai visa forum but I joined a couple of uk ones to try find the answer and no posts ever get answered, hoping someone from uk maybe done similar. Also while I'm on I've come in on a non o visa. Last I had was pre covid, what do I need to extend to a year. I'm sure last time I did was pretty straight forward and have to have 400k in bank any advice appreciated save me having go immigration twice

Hey guys,

I am currently in Thailand with the 30 days visa thing. Had some sudden change of plans and will need to extend my visa. Do you think it’s possible if I just walk in to the bureau and request to extend?

I'm doing my first Non-O extension and have a couple of questions/reminders (memory loss since the first time around).

1. Do the copies need to be in color, such as passport, bank book, etc.?

1. I seem to recall that they required one or more forms in duplicate.

I am following this template.

This is a bit dumb, sorry. I understand the rules- I think, but I find them counter intuitive and so I am uncomfortable. I am going to start bringing some of my cordless tools back. Do people really put the tools in a check bag and then just bring a handful of batteries in their carry on??

Is there a limit on this?

Could I get some good advice please. I see so many post that turn into arguments and bad information from those selling the short cut to get around the system. I have been coming to Thailand every year for 10 yrs with my thai partner who owns a house here. We live in the US primarily. While I was working I came in on a 30 day visa on arrival. She would stay longer. This time a 60 day tourist as I retired. Next year we are thinking longer term stay. O or OA? I'm also over 50yrs. Monthly income or 800K in bank is not an issue. Which is easier to get with less hassle?
