My non-O retirement visa expires in early December, wondering if any of the requirements have changed in the last year. Only major change for me is that I'm legally married to a Thai.

One question about requirements for the photos of passport pages - I recently got a re-entry permit and made high quality color scans of the passport pages - the lady at Thai Imm at Central Festival wouldn't accept them, made b&w photocopies instead.

Is that what they want for non O retirement?

1. Passport

2. a copy of data ("picture") page

3. a copy of most recent visa (if you have one)

4. a copy of most recent stamp

5. a copy of departure card (TM6)

6. a copy of the TM30 receipt (TM30 is filed in the immigration office)

7. a copy of the 90 day report

8. Proof you meet the financial requirements of 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account seasoned for 2 months along with a letter from the bank.

If renewing the one year extension of stay, the 800,000 THB must be seasoned for two months before applying and three months after the last extension of stay was granted, and for the money not to have been lower then 400,000 THB throughout the calendar year.

9. 1 year bank statements โ€“ allow 1 week.

10. Letter from the bank confirming account and balances.

11. Bank Passbook must be updated the day that the visa is applied for.

12. A hand drawn map to your residence. This map is not fancy, and should only show the cross streets, any landmarks and location.

13. 2x passport pictures - Nov 2021 only needed 1.

14. 1,900 THB.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the current requirements for renewing a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, noting a change in status due to marriage to a Thai national. Key points of concern include the acceptance of document formats (color scans vs. black and white copies) and the comprehensive list of required documentation such as financial proof, recent immigration stamps, and additional procedural elements.

- Agreed!

I got it from Benjamin Hays a while back, I think he was a moderator at one point.

well if you're not getting an extension based on marriage to a thai (meaning you're not changing the reason for your extension) doesn't really matter that you're married to a thai

you want black and white copies, with the pages oriented in portrait not landscape

just a question regarding dot point 6. Thailand's not issuing arrival/departure TM6 cards at the moment. Does dot point 6 become "if applicable". Thanks

You get TM6 cards on land borders, just not via entry by flight.

unless I'm wrong they don't GIVE you the departure card piece when you enter by land, you fill it out the arrival/departure card but they keep both pieces when you stamp in

No, I came from Laos about 15 days ago, and they treated the TM6 card just like ever.

However when I came about 10 weeks ago from Paris by plane, I got none in the plane, and when I asked at immigration, they said: "No Need!"

Perhaps it is different from border point to border point. I passed in Nakhon Phanom.

TM6 arrival/departure card has been waived only for travelers entering Thailand by Air, not for those by land.

I came into Thailand from Suvannakhet at the end of September 22 and have a TM6 stapled in my passport

strange seeing as they suspended that program July 1st 2022 ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

As I said IF you have it use it, if you don't, don't

@Graham **********
yep, IF you got one when you stamped in (pre July 1st 2022, you use it, if you didn't you don't

- Thanks!

Talked it over with a few who've done both marriage and retirement visas, I decided to stay with the retirement visa - and I'll do the pics the way they want them.
