yeah, its cash they wanted to see, not statements or credit cards for the 2 reports ive heard where guys were detained and forced to fly elsewhere: Only 2 out of thousands of daily arrivals.....so really the chance of being asked is very low, but as the outcome was pretty severe, for me, as a long term tourist, i will make sure i carry the cash.
Not that strict, but if you have a history of staying long term in thailand (profile says you live in CM), then you should carry 10k baht or currency equivalent, just in case

Only accept us dollars and super fussy about the notes: they need to look brand new - not even a fold crease...
