You can get a (multi - if needed) re-entry permit for your SETV. doesnt extend your stay but allows u to leave thailand without losing your visa. For the dates given 60+30days seems to work?

Use an ATM to withdraw USD (20k equiv) in cambodia the day before you return to thailand. Ive never heard of travellers cheques here

@Hans *******
yeah, its cash they wanted to see, not statements or credit cards for the 2 reports ive heard where guys were detained and forced to fly elsewhere: Only 2 out of thousands of daily arrivals.....so really the chance of being asked is very low, but as the outcome was pretty severe, for me, as a long term tourist, i will make sure i carry the cash.

Not that strict, but if you have a history of staying long term in thailand (profile says you live in CM), then you should carry 10k baht or currency equivalent, just in case

Yes, last week. My first from there, and 4th setv in this passport. They wanted to see flight back to thailand, flight out, hotel booking. Consulate isnt busy, no queuing.

Only accept us dollars and super fussy about the notes: they need to look brand new - not even a fold crease...

~25mil visitors a year = ~18billion baht. Nice business...they couldnt scrap that 😮

So you go for the even less plausible option; its now free....🤔🙄

Airlines pay tax to the gov already. This is an additional tax. Whats so inconceivable?

Do your own google research if this concerns you so much. Im out.
