Does anyone know if they accept a lease contract as proof of accommodation? The consulate website says hotel booking or housebook - if im staying with a thai. I can make a fake booking, but its easier to use my lease.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A lease contract can be used as proof of accommodation when applying for a SETV in HCMC, Vietnam, as confirmed by a user who successfully utilized one. However, it's advisable to also have a copy of the Thai house book and the landlord's Thai ID. It's important to remember that the Thai consulates in Vietnam only accept USD for visa fees.
Hi Jon I got my SETV there back in April, and used a lease agreement with no problems. Taking the additional docs as per Tod's suggestion above can't harm though.
Also worth remembering to take copies of any docs that you submit as the only thing you get back is your passport.
