just did a dummy run comparison £1000 by cash pick-up into Thai Baht. You are categorically WRONG and my XE habit remains a good one. Granted Remitly fee was £1 less than XE but the Baht payout 930baht LESS. Go figure Mr Remitly. Don't make recommendations you've not thoroughly checked out.
if there's any difference in exchange rate it is extremely close and xe is just as likely to be cheaper. Believe me I don't start a "habit" unless I'm convinced it's offering better value. The thing you didn't mention is "cash pick-up " and that's the big advantage of xe to those who've not succumb to the pressure through the visa system to pay 50k to open a bank account etc. Does Remitly offer cash pick-up in Thailand?
yea I have same advantage in philippines with free banking there. In Thailand the nice helpful agents offered to relieve me of 50-60k baht to open an account and get a one year visa extension. I told them they can stick the offer where the sun don't shine! I'll carry on with XE or free cash advances. I will not succumb to organised blackmail.
yea the CS account is great for US citizens. Not available to others. XE app is still excellent value. High withdrawal amounts for only $4. Literally can get 150,000baht for $4
listen soft lad. Download XE app. Create an account. Send money to yourself by "cash pick-up" method $4 or £3 (120 baht) . A piece of piss. No ATM fees and no limit on transfer amount. I can use my uk debit card for free cash advance but daily limit 20k.
