Why does Bangkok Bank keep asking me to visit my branch after I've updated my details?

Just to share and rant. On 27 May 2025, i went to the Bangkok Bank branch where I opened my account to update my personal details, re-submit all the required documents/passport/Thai driver’s licence and re-signed the forms as before. Task completed.

On 16 July, Bangkok bank app got locked so I went to Central Rama9 to update my personal information with AIS then I went to the Bangkok Bank branch upstairs to update my personal details again with the AIS receipt for verification to unlock the app. Task completed. App was unlocked after 5pm same day.

Tonight I checked the Bangkok Bank app and saw this message to visit the branch where I opened my account within 30 days. AGAIN 🤦🏻‍♂️ I think Bangkok Bank doesn’t understand what is customer service and support. GOOD GRIEF 🙄

It's disgusting the way they are doing this to their clients and many times without notification, the only way they find out is when they try to pay for something or withdraw some funds, I for one will be closing my Bangkok bank account when all this is sorted.

I'm glad I'm bailing out of Thailand. Between the extortionate cash demands recently for first time retirement visa (50 - 100k baht) I am tired of the blatant greed and the disregard for service (as the posting) after all the money has been paid. I'll say adios amigos and head off to Vietnam for a 90 day stay for £19. I don't need the complications and unashamed greed of Thailand.

Same happened to me. They sent confirmation of my i.d & have still blocked acc. Now back in UK. Bkk messing customers about.

Going to try a different bank today. Safer to have a 2nd bank account as backup 🤞🏻

For me, in that area of the BBL mobile app the banner says "Starting from August 17, 2025 You will be able to transfer funds, top up, pay bills and make cardless withdrawals via Mobile Banking, within the bank's total daily limits."

I had the same message today, how is this even legal to block our bank account funds like this…I don‘t have time to go to Thailand in the next 6 months and now I‘m supposed to come in 30 days to access my funds again??

Happened to me today. I try to pay in morning and couldn't. Try another shop and couldn't. I called the call center and they told me I need to go to my branch. I truly don't understand how they just out of nowhere blocked people money. It's crazy! I don't understand that. Really make me angry and unsecured. And what's more crazy! I need to wait until Friday or Monday after the main branch decide what to do.

There are imo only 2 reasons they have blocked your app.The first one is the phone number and the second one is the Personal Information (KYC) in settings. Have you ever updated the Personal Information at your branch?

my sim register and I check that 2 month before. I did the kyc 1 month before.

My personal information was updated automatically by Customer service at my branch when I opened a Fixed Deposit Account. I didn't even know about it and I have never had a problem with my accounts at Bangkok Bank over the years.

In May after your visit to your branch, did you check Personal Information (KYC) in Settings? Was the information updated?

Ok, because before you updated everything in May, you couldn't open Personal Information (KYC). So,if you can see that, especially the first page with basic info is correct,it means that your visit to your branch was successful. It must be a glitch.
