I have filipina girl friend. Apart from two months visa exemption （+ 30 days）does anyone here know how to obtain an Education visa...（she can take a thai cooking course）...want a 12 month visa without ridiculously high fees. Any information welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Answer summary

The post discusses how a Filipina girlfriend can obtain an education visa to study Thai cooking. Responses suggest that the least expensive method is to apply through the Thai embassy in the Philippines. Identifying a registered cooking school in Pattaya beforehand is essential, as she needs a letter from the school to apply for the visa. Schools will assist with the visa application process but it requires active enrollment. There are also alternative options like the DTV soft power programs that are recommended as simple to navigate.

Find the school she wants to study at and they will assist with the ED visa, but she will need to study.

Alternatively try one of the DTV soft power options. Again speak to the school and check they are a registered provider, sign up and pay for the required then go somewhere and apply for the visa

There is a 1 year ed visa for Philippines nationals.

The least expensive method is likely DIY through the Thai embassy in the Philippines.

I believe there are cooking schools that qualify.
