as with many immigration rules, they are guidelines and often only internal documents… the law that allows them to handle it like this is the „up to the officer“ paragraph
Anonymer Teilnehmer 242 great. but its still pretty stupid for anyone else to get an elite for tens of thausands when you can get a DTV. the benefits are not worth it.
Dean Annon i can easily afford it. do i want to afford it? no. its like burning money in a totaly stupid way… but i understand the people that got it in the past and that now need to defend their horrible decision since the DTV is the super easy and amazing alternative for a longterm stay.
does the elite have advantages? yes sure… but none of them is worth the price tag. nowadays there is so many options. especially for payments that a bank account even has very little value.
with the DTV you can come and go as you please, same same. its just a 6 month re-stamp. or an in-country extension and a border run once a year… hell, i am not a 70yo retired John that never travels. i leave the country multiple
times a year anyway. so its absolutely a non factor.
a credit card for what? no sane person would put his financial stuff into the thai system. especially when you have access to the western world and its markets and financial instruments.
Anonymer Teilnehmer 242 what restrictions exactly? lol… its perfectly fine to live on the DTV in thailand. much better than most solutions before. a bank account? a nuance in the bigger picture especially with all the many solutions that are out there for payments. not worth spending tens of thausands for a visa that literally only give you a bank account. lmao
