Does a 30-day extension of a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand start from the expiration date or the day I extend it?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm paranoid so want to check. I'm on a 60 day tourist visa that runs out on the 16th October. If I extend at the start of next week (so around the 10th/11th) does it start my extra 30 days from the 16th or the day I extend? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The extension of your 60-day tourist visa in Thailand will start from the expiration date of your current visa, which is the 16th of October, not the day you apply for the extension. Therefore, if you extend your visa around the 10th or 11th of October, it will grant you an additional 30 days beginning from the 16th.
