what else am I supposed to read in “I already received my Thai pass, very doubtful I will get my money back”?

the article says nothing about the pass not being necessary, it remains a requirement.

it's not a holiday, I travel constantly working remotely. I'm just looking for a nice relaxing spot for a couple of months, maybe three in SE Asia and I enjoyed my previous experience in Thailand, so I thought I'd come back for a little stay.

I recall that concern about expenses if I test positive, I guess I'll have to get a good insurance if I decide to come. I'm also concerned that my vaccines may not be accepted for whatever reason. I don't know what proof of vaccination they require.

(Having no tourists around sounds good to me too. 🙂)

staring at four walls? What happened to the no-quarantine Phuket sandbox last July expanding in October and so on?

I delayed my coming to Thailand for a year, I was hoping August 2022 would be better in terms of restrictions. It’s still my plan…

is that a license you're granted when you get to Thailand? I wasn't aware. I'll be back soon, so I'll be sure to ask for one.

They get to ride scooters in Thailand and I'm not even there 😞 so they deserve to be fined.

I’m not a backpacker nor is it the case that I “cannot afford it”, I just find it despicable that you would refer to people struggling in those terms because they don’t have options. That’s not telling it like it is, that’s being what you know you were.

And I wouldn’t get offended because someone makes a proposition as if it’s really good when he doesn’t know my circumstances.

There are plenty of Thai Visas, sure, there is a market for it and there’s good cost/benefit for a lot of people, I’m very much aware of that.

$300 a month is about

th of my salary and more than many Thais make per month. My salary is pretty decent even for European standards, but I reserve the right to decide what I consider reasonable, and paying $18k or so for a 5-year visa when I would stay no longer than a year is not a reasonable solution even if I made 3x as much.

Also, if you’re coming to a forum to laugh at people because they don’t meet your standards, besides being no more than a troll, you clearly need to find a better hobby.
