Hi everyone,

I have a question from a practical point of view. I understand that legally I am allowed to do this, but I would like to hear real experiences.

I recently received a 12-month extension of stay based on being a parent of a Thai child (Non-O visa). For the financial requirement, I have the 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account.

My question is: will there be any issue with my next extension if I temporarily reduce the balance during the year and then restore it at least three months before applying again, as stated in the immigration rules? Or is it safer in practice to keep the full 400,000 THB untouched the entire time?

Has anyone here done this successfully, either with a marriage extension or a parent-of-Thai-child extension?

I would really appreciate any recent experiences. Thanks!

Hi I was looking to apply in KL for DTV visa. I didn't realise it was really strict here. Anyway I have my own company with a professional detailed website and business registration. However the company is quite new so I don't have much evidence of invoices etc. I do have enough money to last many years though, so its not like I will run out of money. Am I going to have big problems due to this?

I'm looking to apply for the DTV within the next couple of months, My bank balance dropped below the 500k thb threshold for a week down to 460k thb, but will now remain above it (by a considerable amount) until I actually apply. Will this have an impact on my application?

I actually haver a different account with a positive balance that would more than cover the period it dropped, would this be able to be taken into account?

Hello , I am planning to apply for the DTV as a remote worker.

I have maintained a balance of 500,000 THB in my Thai bank account for the last three consecutive months.

I would like to clarify exactly which documents are required for the 'remote worker' category and whether it is better to apply at the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi or Vientiane. Thanks in advance.

DTV Approved from New Delhi – Zero Stress!

Just got the "Approved" email today! I applied at the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, and the process was incredibly smooth.

The Timeline:

* Applied: 2 March 2026

* Approved: 9 March 2026

* Processing Time: Exactly 7 days (including the weekend!)

* Category: Digital Nomad / Remote Worker

The Best Part: I wasn't asked for any additional documents or clarifications. I submitted my standard portfolio and bank statements, and it went straight through!

Hi everyone, I'm looking to get a DTV digital nomad visa. Is there anyway of paying extra if you don't have the necessary funds in your bank account for someone to help you out?

Wonder if immigration don't apply this to extensions done via an agent.

Proof of funds when completing 90 day report

I never used an agent and got this recently Jomtiem.

Is that the punishment for not using a friendly agent?

Using an agent to cover your funds could end up costly if they implement this.

A good earner for the friendly agent if it is implemented in the future.

Hi everyone 👋 Planning to apply for DTV Soft Power (Muay Thai) via Hanoi and looking for quick confirmations from approved applicants. The muay thai school has history of successful applications in hanoi. I'm Italian. On my passport there is 1 entry this year, other 3 entries last year.

Questions:

* 💰 Bank: Is 500,000 THB closing balance + Movement of 6 month enough, or do they want a 6-month average? Funds are split across 2 bank accounts: OK or risky?

* ✈️ Flight: Is a flight out of Vietnam into Thailand required?

* 🏨 Hotel: How many nights in Vietnam did you book for the application?

* 📄Any additional documents commonly requested for Muay Thai (6-month course) ?

* How long did approval take for you in Hanoi?

Any real experiences appreciated 🙏

Thanks!

I will be doing my first My NON-Immigrant O Visa Renewal. It expires on July 29, 2026. How long does the 800,000 baht need to be untouched in my bank account before July 29, 2026?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
