Hello! Does anyone know of a bank that my husband and I could get a joint account with that would allow us BOTH to use their banking application (using two phone numbers and our own separate phones) and allow us both to have our own QR code without having to get our own separate accounts? We’ve never had separate accounts, so this has been weird to finagle and would like to find a bank that would meet our needs. Thanks so much!

Hello. I'm looking for some clarification and advice. My spouse and I are from USA and both over 50.

We are looking to get the LTR next year, once my spouse can show a little extra passive income on our taxes from renting out our house.

In the interim, we would like to enter Thailand on either an O or O-A visa. The problem appears to be that we thought we only needed to show the 800,000 Baht in our bank on the day of application, but now we noticed we need three months of statements.

We have access to the funds, but with the misunderstanding, we did not yet put them in an account(s) and we want to travel soon.

We also have the option of showing $2,500 in income with those statements. We have a joint checking where my spouse can easily demonstrate that income, but I am a little short.

Based on that, it appears my spouse should have no problem with either the O Or the O-A immediately, but I might have issues.

Based on the above we have a few questions:

1) Do I need to show the money in my account for all three months? I would qualify if I only needed it on application submission.

2) Would they take our total monthly income in our joint account and split it between us? If so, then I would have enough income for all three months.

3) I know I can't open a Thai account without a 90 day visa. Of course, I could go on an exemption or vacation visa. I could then return to the USA after three months and apply for an O or O-A, but that's not very ideal. Is there another option that would allow me enter Thailand sooner and not have to return to the USA to reapply?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this, and for helpful clarification or advice.

Hi Guys, my wife & I are moving to Thailand in August, and have a list of questions that we can't seem to get a proper response on. None of the Thai Consulates here in Australia seem to be taking calls at the moment and we have no local one' that we can visit. We have also sent emails to the consulates but not receiving a response so thought that I would try here as we really need the information to be able to proceed further. We will be applying for the 90 day Non Immigrant Retirement Visa from OZ, then doing the 1 year extension from Thailand, so our questions relate specifically to this visa only.

We would appreciate the correct advice relating to this and are gratefull for your advice.

Non- immigrant O VISA – Retirement - 90 days (First 90 days)

To meet the financial requirements can the 3 months deposit into an Australian bank account of a total of 65,000 BHT (per person per month) be from other sources not from a State Pension?

Can the money be in a joint bank account (husband and wife)? Are the financial requirements for both applications taken from this same account?

If the 65000 BHT deposits per month per person is acceptable – can you spend the deposited money, or does it have to stay in the account for 3 months and not be touched?

Can a superannuation statement be used as proof of having adequate funds instead of a bank statement?

Non- Immigrant O Visa – Retirement – 1 year Extension (when in Thailand)

Is the financial requirement for the 1st year extension, to deposit 800,000 BHT (per person) into a Thailand bank account for a period of 2 months?,

OR

is there another option to have 65,000 BHT deposited (per person) per month for 2 months?

If the 65000 BHT deposits method is acceptable – can you spend the deposited money, or does it have to stay in the bank account and not be touched?

To open a bank account - Can we apply for a certificate of residency certificate once we arrive, by showing 2 months paid accommodation. The accommodation is rented from the owner through Airbnb.

Rental agreement – How long does the rental agreement need to be for?

Does the Thailand bank account need to be in separate names for a husband and wife or can it be in both names?

How many years can we renew the non-immigrant 0 visa – for retirement purposes?

On a retirement Non-immigrant 0 Visa – can my wife enter as a dependent on my Visa, if she is over 50 years old and Australian? If yes, can a bank account be in joint names?

Can a superannuation statement be used as proof of having adequate funds instead of a bank statement?

Thanks so much!

Has anyone done the DTV visa with their spouse who was of a different nationality and needing to do the dependent DTV visa?

Can you share your experience and if there was anything out of the ordinary in your experience?

For proof of funds, did your spouse's account also have to have 500k or could you use your own since they are a dependent?

Thank you

Can the bank account with 500,000 Baht have a co-signer on the account or does it need to be in your name only?

Hi, I am just looking for clarification regarding the DTV spousal visa. Is it correct that as the spouse of a DTV you only need to show your husband's bank account with 500k baht and a letter from your husband stating that he is supporting you? Thank you for any assistance here.

I see lots of questions about Thai banks. I have been married to my Thai wife for 50+ years. She has a Thai passport and ID card and an American passport, drivers license etc. we live in the USA 🇺🇸.

we are fixing to go to Thailand 🇹🇭 again in January. I want her to open a bank account and add me on the account like here in the USA 🇺🇸.

Is that doable? Also which banks in Bangkok are more user friendly and have less fees?

TIA

Advice Required.

We are a married Australian couple currently in France on a year, long stay visa. We recently applied for our Non A-O retirement visa. We have lived previously in Thailand on the same visa.

Yesterday we attended the Thai embassy in Paris to provide our passports. Received an email for extra information,

The want bank statements providing evidence of 24000 euro in my name only? We have a french bank account but use it only for week to week expenses no savings.

We have our main bank accounts in Australia, can meet the 800k baht and have a significant monthly income due to rent from commercial properties. All our bank accounts are in joint names as we have been married 38 years.

Bit concerned if they don't except our Aussie bank statements. Any advice appreciated.
