I entered Thailand 3 weeks ago with the plan of getting a visa on arrival, as I did last year. I was in Thailand for 6 months doing visa runs and never overstayed. Everything was in rule. Long story short, they asked me to buy a ticket to leave Thailand and gave me only 45 days instead of the usual 60 days.
I would like to apply for a DTV visa, but at the moment, I don’t have the required funds in my bank account for at least 3 months.
I am going to India for 3 weeks, and my question is: Do you think I can apply for a METV to come back to Thailand, and meanwhile get my papers sorted, to then apply for a proper DTV?
The Thai embassy does not usually provide reasons when a DTV visa is rejected. Because of this, applicants cannot confirm whether the rejection is related to the supporting documents. In our case, I applied for a DTV visa through Muay Thai Fever gym in Chiang Mai, but the application was rejected. The gym informed us that they could not provide a full refund in this situation
Hi, has anybody applied for a non-o through e-visa website whilst having a METV that isnt expired.
I currently am outside of Thailand in my home country
I recieved a METV Visa which expires in 3 months from the online e-visa website using the embassy in London. I used the METV visa once and have just returned back in my home country.
I just applied for a non-o 90 day visa for marriage (stayin with family residing in thailand) via the e-visa website again.
How likely is this to be approved, as the METV is still active/usable will this cause any issues, or does it have to be cancelled somehow.
If approved will there be any issue at airport IO for having two visa's?
I was wondering if anyone here has ever done a visa run with their pet, and what the experience was like.
I’m on a METV and planning a short trip around mid–late November (haven’t decided on the destination yet). I’ll be traveling with my small dog (5 lbs, in-cabin only), and I’m trying to understand what the process looks like in terms of paperwork, airlines, and re-entering Thailand smoothly with her. Leaving her with a sitter would only be a last resort.
Any insights, tips, or advice from those who’ve done this would be really appreciated!
Hi can anyone tell me ( preferably from first hand experience ) how long it takes for an METV visa to be issued from the date of submission to the Thailand Embassy in London please ?
When I last applied for an METV we sent passports off and had the 6 month multiple entry visa added to our passports. However I have read that it’s no longer added to the passport as it’s all done online. I’ve read the requirements but can’t find the application form or online portal. I’m applying in the UK. Please could someone enlighten me.
Myself and my wife have taken early retirement and can show proof of residency in the UK and proof of funds, but no longer have employment proof. How do we deal with this on the application?
Hi guys I hope you are all well. I am a uk passport holder currently in Thailand on a non B visa and work permit. I am moving back to head office in Kuala Lumpur in July. My partner lives in Thailand so my plan is to fly in every other weekend from KL. Should I apply for a metv visa or just a single entry every two weeks? Thanks
Relieved to report I got my soft power DTV through from HCMC yesterday finally. Application submitted 24th April, pending approval 25th April, approved 10th May.
3 points of note from my experience:
Hanoi seems to be much quicker at processing the applications within Vietnam at the moment if you are considering an application in the country.
HCMC approved my application on a Saturday evening - this is the first report I have seen of "out of hours" approvals from this embassy.
I had an active METV in place at the point of approval of my DTV. A caveat to this is that I got a new passport in between the METV and DTV being granted.
This group has been invaluable to me so hopefully this information helps someone else.
