Why was my DTV visa application rejected despite meeting the requirements?

DTV Rejected
I'm at a complete loss. Applied at HCMC under soft power. I meet every single requirement for the visa, I'm a US passport holder, showed 2x the required savings solely in my name, did a 1 year Muay Thai, explained my 5 year plan, showed non work related income (husbands veteran disability) for passive income to sustain living in Thailand, sponsor letter from him for the income, documentation from the VA showing me as his dependent in terms of disability payments. Not getting any explanation for denial is extremely frustrating and I would love to apply again as I truly want to train Muay Thai but I'm not going to waste my time or money if I don't know the reason for denial. Anyone have any suggestions?

you need all documents again, freshly dated. and more… ask your local immigration office as its different from office to office… especially in regards of residency proof. i had to show similar things to someone on a retirement non-o visa.

As many time ignored, there are three different purpose to apply for this DTV.

Each purpose has their own regulations and rules, for each purpose are different documents needed.

For workcation see attachtment, for soft power or spouse and children see the attachements in the reply on my comment.

It's highly adviced to just go to any border instead. Seems like only very few chooses the hassle with local immigration when stamp out/stamp in is that much more hassle-free. You choose. But be ready to spend hours if not days in ques and requests for documents that probably doesnt exist :D 'welcome to local immigration'. A third option is to go directly to the ranking officer at your office and put some extra stamping fee in the PP and hope for the best. May actually be the quickest and most painless ;p reserved for who has the balls.
