Hi ! I will be getting out of the Navy in 2027. I am currently stationed in Japan.( time in 7 years ) I have a husband and an infant and looking into/planning to move to Thailand for at least a couple of years + after my tour. As I am currently active duty I am not a digital nomad at this time. I have two years to execute this move successfully. Any advice on The best Visa for us ? How far in advance to apply. Child visa ? How does that work … Tips on companies for remote work? Just looking for any advice to help me ! Thankyou 🙂

Hello! Trying to figure out the best way to come to Thailand on SSDI. I am 35 years old. I have 85k USD in savings and get 3k a month. Can I go the workation route? I'm scared that if I go the Muay Thai or learning to cook route. It will get back to Social Security and I will lose it. Appreciate any guidance on the matter!

Hi all.

I want to move to Thailand for a year or two on a trial basis before applying for the DTV 5 year (if it truly becomes home)

What would be my best options for 1-2 years in Thailand? I would like to freelance and potentially work for and with Thai businesses while I'm living here.

I see a lot of options but I hope you lovely folks can help point me to the best options for my requirements.

Thanks and happy to give more info if needed!

Will be retiring soon and thinking about spending just under 6 months a year in Thailand. Wondering what the best options are in regards to the best visa for 6 months each year. Many thanks in advance for your advice.

It's time to do a new visa.

I am considering the LTR or the retirement visa.

The appeal of the LTR, from what I understand, no taxes?

The visa is a little pricey but over ten years, the per year price is very reasonable especially if you consider it gets me out of doing any tax nonsense.

The appeal of the retirement visa is that it's cheap and there are a lot of "help" available.

Does anybody know the LTR is immune to taxation?

Any other opinions?

DTV is great but I fail to see how its better than the retirenment visa.

Can someone please explain what is better, faster and easier for two freelancer parents and 2 teens, who are already enrolled to international school in Phuket and plan to stay for 6 months before moving to another destination: dtv or student visa? We are still outside of Thailand, but coming in February and already have school and rented house. Both self employed. In July move to Australia, so don't really need visa for 5 years
