I have a visa non B from Kota Baru Malaysia. On the sticker visa, the end of the visa is 9 October but the officer at the border stamp 8 October.

Do you think it will be considered overstay if I leave on the 9 ?

Good morning, I am currently on a 30 day visa exempt as I arrived in Thailand before the new rules started. Unfortunately due to circumstances my new school couldn’t Transfer my visa. Therefore I will be applying for a new non b. However I am married to a Thai citizen and mother to a Thai girl. I am just trying to figure out my best options:

1) Apply for a new non b at Vientiane?

2) Am I able to apply for Non O based on marriage or being a mother to a half Thai child in Thailand? Or will I need to apply at an embassy consulate outside Thailand as this will be my first time applying for this visa as I have been previously on a Non B?

3) Will I be able to get a work permit if I am on a Non O visa?

I have a Non O extension of stay (based on having a Thai child).

I have had a work permit without issue for the last 2 years.

A potential new job advises I have to leave the country to change my Non O extension of stay to a Non B to be able to work for them. The employer is in a different province.

Can anyone clarify if i absolutely have to leave to country? Surely I should just be able to continue working with the Non O?

Many thanks and apologies if I have the terminology incorrect.

Yesterday my application for a Non O (based on marriage to a Thai) 1 year extension was refused at CW. It appears that my understanding of the visa extension options was incorrect, however I’m interested to confirm whether this is indeed the case or perhaps did the immigration officer make a mistake.

I’m currently on a 1 year Non B extension which is due to expire in about 2 weeks time. I’m currently still employed but my work contract will expire at the end of June this year, and due to a change in my life plans I won’t be renewing my work contract. As such, I decided to request a 1 year extension based on marriage instead of an extension based on work. My understanding was that it’s possible to request an extension based on a different category to my current extension (Non O instead of Non B) providing that I meet the requirements of the new extension and have all of the required evidence/documents. I seem to remember hearing about other people who have done similar in the past. Anyway, in spite of me having all the required documents listed in the Non O extension check list, the immigration officer wouldn’t accept my application.

The immigration officer advised me to request Non B extension documents from my employer, return to CW and apply for a Non B extension, then at the end of June when my work contract expires I should request documents from my employer to cancel my Non B extension, then return to CW to cancel the extension, then leave Thailand and visit an embassy in a nearby country, obtain a 3 month Non O visa, return to Thailand, and finally towards the end of the 3 month Non O visa I can return to CW again and apply for the 1 year Non O extension using all of the same documents that I already had with me yesterday when I went to CW.

Obviously I’m going to need to do whatever I need to do, but I’m somewhat surprised by the immigration officer’s advice as I’m pretty sure I’ve heard of other people being allowed to apply for extensions based on a different category to their current extension.

Question for the brains trust regarding 90 day reporting when not in the country - on behalf of someone who isnt a member of the group.

Visa status: Non B (work permit attached)

Re-entry permit: Yes

First 90 day report: No

The 90 day report deadline is coming up, but the Visa holder is held up outside Thailand (currently been away for approx. 2 months) due to unforseen personal reasons. My understanding is that there is a late reporting fee/fine to be paid if the person doesnt return by the reporting deadline, but further to that, if they end up being delayed by a futher month or so, what would be the impact on their visa, if any?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello

We are in need of an urgent advice and any help is highly appreciated.

My wife and I are both foreigners with Non B and Non O.

Our son was born here in Thailand (2023) and has a passport but not a Thai visa yet.

We are having an unexpected 3 days trip abroad that let us with not enough time for my son to apply for a Non O.

As our home country is entitled for Visa on Arrival (not visa exemption) for a 15 days stay what could be our choices?

Can our son be stamped to such 15 days on arrival and then do overstay? And in this case would he need to show a departure flight? Will he be stamped overstay?

I've heard there is no issue for children from countries under Visa Exemption but i am not sure about countries under Visa on Arrival.

Thank you very much for your kind help.
