I have a 90 day Non B Visa dated until Dec 19th and I’m resigning from my position. Immigration told me my employer will send a letter to indicate termination of employment and then once they process, my Non B will be cancelled (which means I need to leave the country). I do not have a visa extension or work permit.
So my question is, can this and will this in fact be cancelled? Will my “permission to stay” considered to be canceled as my employment is ending (as I’m told these are two different things) If so, how do I know what date to leave as I have no idea how long it will take to process the cancellation?
If not, and I’m able to stay until Dec 19th, how can I be sure I won’t get an overstay penalty when I try to leave the country?
Thanks in advance as I’ve had many conflicting answers 🙏
