I am moving to Thailand early next year from Australia. With the current exchange rate I am a little hesitant to put 800,000 Baht in the bank to cover my retirement visa. If I was to do the 65k Baht income a month till the exchange rate improves can I then swap to the 800k option? Thank you

Concern's about new taxes imposed on imcoming proceeds from my country THAT I HAVE ALREADY PAID TAX ON &

worked hard all my life to earn.

Hi to all, Angela here , i am a brand new group member. I am a semi retired middle aged Australian trades-woman. I am not wealthy but what little means i have i worked very very hard for. Indeed no man ever gave me a razoo cent nor did i ever ask.

Having been to Thailand 3 times over the last 15 yrs i have often considered retiring there.

Now i am not so sure 🤔. I have recently learned that the Thai Gov have audaciously proclaimed they will tax the income &/ or in my case incoming disbursements of my own hard earned money into a Thai bank account.

I have already paid tax on my own money 🤷‍♀️in Australia. There is no way i am going to abide supporting such a Yak hyde of a policy. Ned Kelly wore a helmet when he rorted ya but they intend to so so with a straight face 😮.

I would really value some honest opinions on the new tax policy for retiree's before i consider Thailand as a retirement destination, 🤔🤔 Kind regards Angela

I'm from Australia and have the multiple entry non-o marriage visa (Thai wife). Currently on the first 90 days (entered 3rd December). We normally spend 3-6 months per year in Thailand and balance of year in Australia.

-does this give me 90 days per entry or 90 days total across all entries?

-Is it the last 30 days or last 45 of entry stamp that I can apply to convert to annual extension?

-I'll travel overseas returning on 9th March, then leaving again on 4th May. I was planning to convert to annual extension & multi entry before leaving, will that be possible? I'd made flight bookings thinking the original visa was 90 days in total rather than per entry. If not possible I won't be back in Thailand again until after my current non-o expires on 30 October 2023.

If relevant:

-We live in Phitsanulok in her family home when in Thailand

-I've now got the B400,000 in an account, but it won't be 2 months seasoned before my current entry stamp expires due to bank paperwork delays to open account

-We were married in Australia, I've got the Kor Ror 22 issued by local Amphur now

Good afternoon (from Australia), my wife and I, Australian passport holders & both in our 60s, are wanting to settle permanently in Koh Samui early next year.....as we will have immediate family moving there. I know that there is a 45 day entry without visa but am keen to apply for the Retirement Visa (O-A) as we would have the necessary 800k baht each, medical insurance & police check.

I want to apply but am unsure how to go about it....can I go to KS and we both apply there? Is this something I should do in Oz? How would we satisfy the Thai Bank account prerequisite? Also, are we allowed to come into Thailand on a one-way ticket using our 45 day stamp?

I thought I had all this clear in my mind but I'm sorry to say I'm struggling! We intend to leave January 30th 2023.

Hello I am planning on coming to Thailand in November. I originally was looking at coming in on the tourist exemption visa for Australians. From this visa can I apply for the METV or should I just go straight for that visa in my country. I'm looking at staying thailand for a year. I was also looking into the education visa. Thanks for any help in advance 😊

So I’m Australian in australia… is there no longer multi entry tourist visa? Only tourist visa amnesty, tr 60+30 and stv90.

How do I stay longer than 90 days if I wish to come in the next 2 months?
