im australian can i get a non o visa retirment and only stay in thailand 6 months and in australia 6 months
Answer summary
Yes, as an Australian citizen over 50, you can obtain a Non-O visa for retirement purposes, valid for 90 days upon entry. To extend your stay beyond the initial period, you need to meet financial requirements, such as having 800,000 THB in a Thai bank. Once you have the extension, a re-entry permit allows you to spend 6 months in Thailand and 6 months in Australia, provided the timing for extensions is managed correctly. Alternatively, you could consider the METV, which allows a stay of 60 days at a time for up to 6 months but does not offer the same benefits as a Non-O visa.

Yes if you meet the requirements yes. When you have the extension with re entry permit it doesn’t matter if you want to stay 4 or let’s say 10 months.
You could also look in to METV. That’s a tourist visa for 6 months. But you can only stay 60 days straight.
A non O visa based on being over 50 is valid for 90 days and would give you 90 days on entry. You cannot extend that other than a year extension provided you meet the financial requirements of having 800k in a Thai bank. Once you get the extension then with a re-entry permit you could spend 6 months in Thailand and 6 in Aus but you’d have to time it right to get the next extension when due.
