COME BACK TO BANGKOK IN 2026!

Hello guys, and hello haters…

Today I just came back to Bangkok after spending New Year in Hanoi. I think this is my 6th or 7th entry using DTV already.

Oops—sorry about my cute, compact, passport-size DTV 😌 Yes, it’s printed and laminated.

The officer took my passport and my tiny DTV, said “DTV,” then matched the visa number with the system…

Stamp. Done.

No questions.

No drama.

No horror stories.

One more thing:

If you want to save the planet by not printing your visa, go ahead—save the world 🌍

As for me, I enjoy plastic and convenience.

Haters will come anyway.

Good luck to those still applying, and welcome back to Bangkok! 🇹🇭✈️

I currently have an e visa that has given me 90 days. I'm currently staying in Phetchabun at a Muay Thai bootcamp. I will have to leave before my time runs out due to my visa ending, and I wish to stay in Bangkok to see my friend for some time, so I need to extend by a month. Do I have to leave the country to do so, or can I visit my local government complex in Phetchabun?

Hi. And apologies for this. But I am getting conflicting info on line.

A question on the TDAC form please. I board my flight in Dublin Ireland. I transfer to a new flight in Abu Dhabi ( connecting flight) and arrive in Bangkok

Form needs country from which I boarded ? Is this Dublin Ireland or is it UAE?

Also wants flight number. Is the Dublin to Abu Dhabi or Abu Dhabi to bkk ?

Many thanks for the help

Hi there, just wondering where does everyone add on their cover letter with brief explanation of intent to apply for the dtv? Does it go in one pdf just before the financial evidence or my softpower documents? Another thing would be, if my muay thai courses will be in bangkok, can I provide travel details for another city, as we had plans to travel around first? Thanks!

I am planning to go to Bangkok the first week of May. This will be my first trip there. I bought a round trip ticket based on the US requirement of no visa needed for 60 days plus the request of 30 more days. I based my return trip on them granting my request for the extra 30 days. For those who have done this, is it OK ?

Tickets are expense and mine is non refundable but I can change it if needed for an additional charge. Thanks for your input.

Hello there 😊.

I am flying back to Bangkok tomorrow. Do I need to show a return ticket if the airline asks for it? I already have my e-boarding pass, so I shouldn’t have to interact with them, but I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks!

Hi all. I’m in a long term rental in Chiang Rai and will be traveling to Bangkok next week. I’m sure the hotel will submit a TM-30. When I return, will I need to submit another TM-30?

TIA

I have an “and everything else” Q: 8yrs ago (2016) I stayed in a hotel on what people are telling me was the backside of Kasetsart University.

All I can remember about the area from that time is the following:

coming off of whatever main road (I believe from JJ Market/Nakhon Chai Air 🚌 ) the 🚖 turned left onto my destination street and almost immediately again turned left. I was surprised at how fast we’d reached.

There was a really nice almost new looking 7-11 tucked off to my right on this soi. It had really nice and clean food stalls where you had to climb up a few stairs as I saw from the back seat to my left, and the strip had lots of nice looking hotels on the right (same side as the 7). Even the 1 I stayed in was perfect and surprisingly quiet given all the night life hustle and bustle on the strip.

It had a decent amount of night foot traffic but nothing near as busy as Soi 11… Although if you walked to the end of the soi and looked right, the man road was but a stones throw away. Someone who frequents BKK more often, please #help! What area of Kasetsart Uni was I in?!… 🤔

I can’t remember the area or the hotel because I’ve had no need to go to Bangkok since then really and I’ve got an English Camp coming up around that area week of the 7th. If I can learn the name of the area, I can probably find the hotel unless of course they’ve been remodeled/bought out. #changeisaconstant

Has anyone recently checked in at the Qatar Airways desk at Heathrow for a flight to Bangkok with a one way ticket?? If so, were they requiring a return ticket? How did you get around that problem?

Thanks
