Do you agree? More tourists are going to Vietnam than Thailand because it’s cheaper?

Hi guys , just a quick question is it cheaper to do a border run to get another 60 days , or a 30 day tourist extension ?

The DTV Visa here in Canada is $650 CAD, or about $500 USD, seems high, would we be better off applying in Vietnam or Laos after we stay in Thailand on a 60 day Visa free on arrival? I see the fee is 10,000 THB in Laos, which is $400 CAD, much less than Canada, there is 2 of us, so the savings would be about $500 CAD, or about $380 USD if we did it in Laos?,That is a huge difference in fees
