Food same price if not more, accomodations the same, coffee more expensive, local beer is cheeper but cocktail the same or more. I been in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam this year and nothing was cheaper,

In Vietnam Apartment is much more than in Thailand, for 250 usd I get a quiet new apartment with Aircon, fan, furniture, balkony in Hanoi the cheapest I saw was 300 usd, most 500+

 i just been in Hanoi and for sure not cheaper, may be country side is cheap but this is Thailand too. And I work in tourism I know all prices

 yes. Being a travel writer and creator for nearly 13 years, Vietnam’s rise in popularity has always been inevitable. Saw it in 2012. A lot of Thai expats and digital nomads are choosing Vietnam over Thailand

 Hanoi is cheaper than HCM which I found recently to be not very different to Bangkok. Airbnbs can be cheaper in HCM compared to central Bangkok. When a country gets an influx of tourists prices rise. Danang is currently great value compared to Phuket, Hua Hin and many fans of Thailand are staying there now but prices there are on the up.

 tbh I was there in May and it felt a lot cheaper for accommodation, food, drink around the Hanoi Old Quarter.

 interesting. Lots of travellers in one of my travel communities insist Vietnamese cheaper. And as in this video report, a travel agent for 20 years say’s that’s what her clients are telling her.

 I agree, Vietnamese main cities are not really cheaper. Prices have increased due to the influx of tourists.
