Residency Certificate (RC) - Are residency certificates specific to each task wanting to be accomplished.

i.e. I got a RC for a drivers license. Now I only have a copy because DLT took that copy. Also I believe the RC notes states it for use with drivers license.

So would opening a bank account require a RC designated for opening a bank account.

When I tried to open a bank account I showed the bank folks the my RC I used for drivers license and they said, “That’s for a drivers license”

Hey everyone. What prepared documents are necessary, to get the proof of residency from the immigration office in Bangkok Lak Si , for the DLT and what department at the immigration will be the right one?

My Thai Motorcycle and Car (5 year issue) are due to expire in August 2024.

Can you please advise how many months prior I can renew?

Would I need to resit the tests again?

Do I need to show a copy of my TM30 when applying for a Thai Driver's licence? Can I apply for it in Hua Hin if my address is in BKK (I understand that the processing time is much shorter in HH). Are the requirements the same regardless of the visa type:

Question regarding Thai 2 yr drivers license renewal to obtain 5 year license. I’ve been here 2 years on retirement visa and now time to renew motorcycle and car licenses.

I saw on a YouTube post that to renew my license I need to take an online driving test first while watching a 1 hour video and include the “passed” certificate with my renewal application and other docs. Is this correct? I’ve spoken to others expats who have renewed within the last year or two and they said they didn’t have to do the online test. Anyone renewed recently that had to do the online test first? Looking for input from anyone who’s recently renewed.

Does anyone know if there is a time limit that the DLT will accept a residence certificate to apply for a driving licence.

I'm getting an residence certificate tomorrow to open a bank account . Would the DLT accept a residence certificate that is a week or 2 old ?

Also would I need 1 or 2 residence certs to apply for both car and motorbike licence ?

To transfer car from a private party, what paperwork and steps do both parties need to do?

Hello everyone. I need the copy of my Irish driving license certified by an Irish Embassy. Do I need it translated to Thai in order to converting to Thai driving license (original driving license is in English)?

Thank you everyone. I do appreciate all of your advices. I contacted the local DLT office in my area in Khonkaen (again) to tell them that many foreigners that I know (kinda 😁) didn’t have their driving licenses translated to Thai if it’s in English. They still insisted us (me and my American fiancé) having our driving licenses certified and translated.

It’s the hassle to go to the Embassy in Bangkok to get our driving license certified. We decided to make an appointment with DLT for driving theory exam and driving test. Hopefully, it goes well🤞. Wish us luck!

What documents to I need to make sure the seller gives me, so that I can transfer to my name at the DLT. I want to make sure I get all proper papers.
