They used the electronic scan in Bangkok airport. I noticed that no departure stamp on passport. Is this the new way. All electronic no physical stamp in passport.
Slightly strange departure today from DMK Bangkok as I went through immigration the IO called a colleague over (I suspect someone more senior) who asked me to follow them, I was taken to another counter and re scanned my fingers, checked my passport again, boarding pass. No questions asked or explanation.
Passport was stamped and all was fine. I still had another 8 days on my tourist visa so no overstay etc
Just wondered if anyone else has had this or if i just have strange fingerprints!
Hi All. US citizen here. After entering the Kingdom on a tourist visa (60 days), I went to the US embassy to get a new passport. Upon receiving my new passport, I went to the immigration division of the government complex in Lak Si to transfer my entry stamp, only to be told it was unnecessary. I was informed that, upon my departure from the Kingdom, I can present my old passport with my entry stamp along with my new (and stampless) passport, and be allowed to depart the country. Does this sound accurate? Thanks in advance!
