Will I incur an overstay if my flight departs after my allowed visa-exempt stay?

Hello all

Apologies if it is a dumb question, but i just want to make sure. I just entered on visa exempt, and due to a fail in planning, my ticket home is on november 23rd instead of 22nd. I am allowed to stay until november 22nd.

I am leaving at around 1 am on the 23rd, which means i will technically be stamped while it is the 22nd.

My question then is, if it is a 1-day overstay, or will it not be overstay?

Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about a potential overstay due to their flight departing just after their visa-exempt stay ends. The community responds by clarifying that as long as they pass through immigration before their visa stamp expiration date, they should not incur an overstay, even if their flight leaves shortly after midnight. Many users have had similar experiences without issues.

Do yourself a favour and pass throught departure immigration before 23rd and you will have no issue

You need to be at the airport at least two hours before departure , so just make it three hours before so you exit in time
John ********
Just check in before midnight..no problem

I think you leaving country when you go trough Immigration . After that you are at intenational area . If some reason you overstay one day and you are already in AirPort , you pay 500 THB bath fine . Outside AirPort overstaying is always risk .

yes the 500 baht fine is not a big problem, but i would rather not overstay regardless of it being just 1 hour😊

Generally if you pass through immigration on the day your stamp allows you are not on overstay. A flight that leaves at 1 am would mean that would be the case. Most flights allow check in 3 hours prior. Get your boarding card and pass through immigration and you should be fine.
