2nd DTV Entry - DMK Airport ✅

I returned to Thailand today after my first 6 months on the DTV (short 3 day holiday in Vietnam as opposed to a visa run) - quick and easy but did have to briefly show a document that supported my remote work

The immigration officer asked what category I applied under for the visa - I answered remote working for a UK company - they asked “can you show me a document you applied with”

I believe this was to show I was working for a non-Thai company.

I just showed some payslips (on my phone) that have the name of the company on as they asked to see the company name - this was enough for them and they stamped me in.

This only took 2 minutes or so but I would advise for those re-entering just have some form of document at hand to show at immigration.

I am sharing this as my first entry they just looked at my visa and stamped me in right away - this was nothing to worry about and they didn’t question me any further. They are just doing their job.

After my last not-so-great experience, today I completed my fourth entry on DTV. It was also my first time arriving at DMK Airport.

There was a long queue at immigration - I had to wait around 90 minutes. When it was my turn, I handed over my boarding pass and passport to the immigration officer, an older lady probably in her 50s.

She asked to see my visa letter but didn’t ask for the TDAC.

No further questions were asked, and she stamped my passport in under a minute.

Just wanted to notify that I just flew into Thailand today at DMK airport. They are going at it with extra questioning with tons of people having to fill a statement form as well, especially visa-exempt entries. The questioning area was packed. My TDAC was completed before my trip.

I was pulled aside and questioned for an hour because I was going to enter on my 2nd exempt entry. This is the first air-entry in the last 3 years and they still went at it. I kept on providing proof for everything they asked me and I was finally allowed to enter. They warned me to not enter without a visa next time. I thought it was excessive since many people have reported multiple back to back visa-free stays with no issue. I leave in 29 days. Not 60 or 90, so I don't know why I was treated as if I was trying to live here off exempt stays.

Also most others seemed to have issues since they had no booked flight back, as expected.

Quick question. My visa is valid until May 25th. I have a flight to another country on May 26th at 1:30 AM. Can I go to the airport earlier and pass through immigration before midnight on May 25th?

DMK airport.

I will start off with the positive: arrived at DMK yesterday morning and handed the cute lady officer my passport and A6 size laminated print out of my DTV. After a few minutes she stamped me in and handed me back my passport and DTV and said "this is very cool" referring to the A6 laminate. I blushed and quickly walked away lol. Absolutely zero questions were asked though, which is nice.

My unpleasant experience was at the airline check-in desk with Air Asia stuff, who were, for lack of better words, suspicious of my DTV. I waited for quite a while at the check-in counter while they "verified" it. Eventually, after some 30 minutes or so, they printed my boarding pass. I'm from a poor African country if that matters (you bet it does). Anyway glad to be back in TH.

DTV arrival report at DMK.

I’m Indian and my wife is from Latin America. At New Delhi airport, I assumed check in staff (AirAsia) would bother us for return ticket since I didn’t book one but they just looked at our DTV visas and only asked how many days we’ll be in Thailand, I said 6 months and that was it, we were given boarding passes.

At DMK immigration, I handed over my passport and printed DTV - no questions , 180 day stamp given.

My wife was directed to first go to a medical counter and get her yellow fever vaccine verified (Certain Latin American countries need to do this). She got that done and returned to same immigration officer and got her 180 day stamp.

Overall pretty seamless. Excited to be in Thailand and call it home ☺️!

Flew in to DMK a little after midnight. Gave the IO my passport and print out of DTV. No questions asked. Stamped in for 179 days. ( my last trip in to Thailand was at DMK about a month ago and the IO gave me a hard time and said next time come back with the correct visa, I was on tourist visas for maybe 6 months) Don’t have to worry about that anymore !
