Slightly strange departure today from DMK Bangkok as I went through immigration the IO called a colleague over (I suspect someone more senior) who asked me to follow them, I was taken to another counter and re scanned my fingers, checked my passport again, boarding pass. No questions asked or explanation.
Passport was stamped and all was fine. I still had another 8 days on my tourist visa so no overstay etc
Just wondered if anyone else has had this or if i just have strange fingerprints!
TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler shared their unusual experience at DMK Bangkok airport where they were taken to another counter during departure. After re-scanning fingerprints and having their passport re-checked without any questions, they wondered if others faced similar situations. Various commenters recounted similar experiences, often relating to fingerprint mismatches, possible software glitches, or recent visa extensions, with outcomes generally being positive.
Same exact thing happened to me 5 days ago. Thought they were putting me into the system as a “don’t let back in”. Although mine happened at BKK not DMK.
This exact thing happened to me last month on my way to Laos. I was alone, and am a wheelchair user. Still have no idea if there was a problem because the senior officer didn’t ask me anything after being escorted to his desk. I was nervous, but it went fast and all worked out.
Yes happened to me, did the fingerprints she stamped my passport. Then putting all our hand luggage through the scanner then I got tapped on the shoulder, the officer said can you come with me. I said to my husband we need to go with him, he said no just you, said your fingerprints don't match. He took me back to the booth made a guy who was being processed stand back and everyone in the queue was looking at me. I was tested again and all ok. He was all smiles and me to but couldn't understand why she let me go through...Been back since no problem
It happened to me too but she just looked at screen and in 10 seconds I was let go lol, but I assume it’s because I recently got a new passport within the last 6 months and more than one record popped up and just confirming identity.
Last time, I got stuck at departure immigration as my finger print is not match when I come in. But after 15min they chit chat with his senior and take fingerprints let me go. Next time I come back no problem.
