I exited Thailand through BKK new automatic doors and I haven’t been given any DEPARTURE STAMPS.
It’s like I never left the country…
While I’m outside…
Normally when you exit they stamp with the departure date so that any future agent reading the passport can see you exited before your visa expire.
Is this normal ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared concerns about not receiving a departure stamp when exiting Thailand through automatic gates, likening it to leaving without an official record. Several commenters clarified that this practice is normal and that exits are now recorded electronically, eliminating the need for physical stamps in the passport. Many noted that several countries have adopted similar systems, and the absence of a stamp does not affect legal status regarding their visa.
People insinuating i’m dumb for asking this question are clearly new in Thailand. 1 year ago they were still applying departure stamps in your passport.
If your on a visa that doesnt have multiple entry or leaving will make it expire they will pull you out and have you talk to an imigration official. You can add a multiple entry and or cancel a visa so that when you return there is not an issue.
OMG don't come back as you will be arrested for a massive overstay. You should not have used the auto gates as they're reserved for people that don't ask stupid questions. Seriously, what did you think happened. They have these auto gates all over the world
Wow wait what? Where is this? This is like we are finally living in 2003, almost there witht the present times, but rwally where can i get more info about this
Biometric data - not only is record in your book but finger print and eye scan holds records as well - people with a new passport book cant say they never been there thailand isnt a third world country
HCMC Vietnam needs to get with the times....worse airport for wait times security, immigration, and check in...no AC in main terminal and today no duty free ow and of course vietjet is delayed and we have just been moved gates (again) lol have to laugh or i cry....il try else where for the visa stamp next time
i frequent singapore, the full implementation is just during covid. Before covid its just for exit. I'm talking bout procedures for all foreigners btw, not citizens only gates.
The automatic gate wouldn’t have let you exit if you had overstayed your visa. Your exit has been recorded electronically and your passport now has one less stamp filling up its pages.
thanks and what about the police or any agent that will be controlling my passport IN THE STREET ? (So without any computer to check the microchip). Aren’t they going to be like “hmm 🤔”?
AuthenticFox8040 On your return to Thailand you’ll get a new entry stamp with a “valid until” stamp. That’s the only date any person will be interested in.
