Hello everyone, I have a visa exemption until July 31st for now. Do you know if it is possible to obtain a residence certificate with this type of visa? (I am waiting for a work permit) but I need the certificate before. If someone knows if it's possible.
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of obtaining a residence certificate with a visa exemption valid until July 31. Responses indicate that generally, you cannot obtain a residence certificate from the immigration office under a visa exemption, but it's recommended to check directly with the local immigration office. Alternatively, certificates can sometimes be obtained from embassies.
certificates of residence are issued either at the immigration office OR from your consulate here. IF you can't get it from the immigration office contact your consulate to see if they issue it
but wait. If you are on amnesty I don't think you can get a license as you do not have a valid visa. They need to see your visa type. Usually short tourist visa they don't allow conversion AFAIK.
As a rule you CANNOT get a certificate of residence from the immigration office when you're on the 'no stamp' amnesty because you don't have ANY valid stamp in your passport.
BUT (with 70+ immigration offices in the country) you should GO to your immigration office and ask. That's the only way you will know for sure
Merci pour votre réponse rapide, c'est d'acheter une voiture et de passer le permis thaïlandais (j'ai un permis international pour l'instant). Je vais donc essayer de vous dire après cela, si cela peut aider quelqu'un d'autre 😊
