Is it possible to find condos for renting periods of 1 to 3 months with DTC Visa? Outside of Airbnb of course, I mean with decent local prices

The websites I find for renting require 1 year rent always. I expect some private groups on facebook for example where it would be easier to find but I do not know any

TLDR : Answer Summary
Finding condos for short-term rentals (1 to 3 months) in Thailand can be challenging, especially under a DTC Visa. Most landlords prefer long-term contracts (usually a year), and short-term rentals often come with higher prices. While platforms like Airbnb exist, locals recommend checking Facebook Marketplace and speaking to locals directly, particularly in tourist areas like Phuket and Pattaya, where rental prices may fluctuate seasonally. It's noted that typical local prices tend to be available for long-term leases, and short-term rentals generally require a premium.

There is cheap Thai style accommodation everywhere. Like 3500 a month in Chiang Mai for example. Look around the Uni areas in places. Short term Condo expect to pay a premium. Agents get one month rent as commission for a year contract. They are not going to put much work in for short term

Most of owners here would prefer to sign for a yearly contract. If you're looking for a short term contract, prices will definitely tend to be more expensive than yearly ones.

Reason why they can make it cheaper is cos you're renting long term. Very few will give it to you local price if it's very short term.

i have a ton of success talking to the locals in person, and facebook marketplace. i’ve met up with locals i talked to on airbnb and they almost always want to deal in cash off of the app. also i like to stay in the touristy areas like phuket and pattaya, where they charge me differently based on high/low season. a one year contract can be handy as well

my personal experience
