ORIGINAL POSTER
My Son currently in Chonburi needs to apply for an Extension of his 60 day arrival stamp expiring end of March 2026.

Is it possible to do online or does he have to appear in person at Immigration to lodge the TM47 plus other required documentation?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The son can apply for a 30-day tourism extension online through an e-extension at the Pattaya office, but he must appear in person to collect the e-extension sticker after approval. Alternatively, he can directly visit a local immigration office in Chonburi to apply for an extension within the last week of his current stamp.

You can apply for an e-extension online for a 30-day tourism extension at the pattaya office paying for extra fee addtional to the official fee of 1900 baht. But you need to go to the pattaya immigration office in person to get the e-extension sticker after application got approved within 1 to 7 business days for processing (time depends on the fee).

Or go to the local immigration office in person directly to apply fo an extension within the last week of the current stamp.

Either way you need to go to the immigration office.
