I’d like to apply for the DTV visa (soft power) in Vientiane, Laos. I meet all the requirements, but I am currently unemployed. Do you also need to show a stable monthly income in Laos, or is having a large amount of savings in the bank (well over 500,000 THB) sufficient? Thankyouu
Hi. I am applying for the cooking classes 12 month course with the Canberra Embassy on an Australian passport. I will be quitting my job in 2 weeks, is it okay to put unemployed with zero income as I will be living off my 600k I’ve got saved for now. Thank you in advance.
Additional Details : Basically I would like to stay in Thailand and do some work (research on my own) and study online to gain new skills without getting paid. Which visa I could get. I was under the impression that DTV is a tourist visa for long term.

I'm applying for DTV from Toronto. I'm not working since April. I plan to select "workcation" under purpose of visit and wonder what option I should choose in occupation category which has options like Unemployed, freelance, remote. I was hoping I would be considered under foreign talent category since I have a PhD in Science and past experience with biotechnology. I will be doing some independent research from Thailand. I have sufficient bank balance. I wonder are there documents I should attach other than my Resume, PhD Certificate. Would that be enough ? is being unemployed going to be a problem. Thanks !
I have a question. I arrive in Bali tonight and want to apply for the DTV today or early tomorrow.
I already have all the paperwork that is needed for the soft power Muay Thai, but I have one more question about income.
I don’t work at the moment (due to personal reasons), but as soon as I get the DTV I will get back to it (online)
So I must say that I am unemployed, but I do have sufficient funds for the DTV and able to show for 3 persons if needed (my kids will be added as dependent when mine is approved)
However how would I do this with the application?
I do get benefits from my home country every month and extra every 3 months, which has been enough to live by the past 6 months (without having to dig in to the 500k)
Firstly) When applying for soft power visa, is it acceptable to write occupation as unemployed? I have the said amount of savings and every other document. Just apprehensive about the unemployed part.
Secondly) it asks when I will leave Thailand and what is my flight info. I have no plans and no flight as I intend on staying for 6 months and will purchase an exit flight closer to the time. Any help on what to write on this application would be greatly appreciated
When applying at London embassy for soft power DTV Muay Thai it says employment status i am currently unemployed with no income but substantial savings in crypto/bank
even when you choose the unemployed option it still asks for annual income any advice what to put .. there is a “no income” option or a “below $20,000” and other options with higher income brackets
Not sure what to put if i put below 20,000 will they want to see further proof of that income even if it is soft power
will i risk being denied the visa if i choose the no income option even though it is soft power and i have the 500,000 available
Hello all, my girlfriend who is from Indonesia is planning on applying for the DTV (using soft power for cooking classes) in Jakarta and she is not employed. I support her and pay for everything for us but am wondering if that will be a problem in getting approved if she is unemployed? I do plan on making the deposit of $15,000 into her account (and plan to be added/named on her account as well) and also wonder if we should wait three months before applying or if she could get approved with just one or two months of statements.
