TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing a situation where their Non-B visa is set to expire on August 5, 2020, but their employer plans to terminate their work permit and visa on May 1, 2020, due to job loss. They are seeking advice on how to proceed given that their flight home is not until the end of May.

that is NOT a Non-B VISA, that is an extension of stay and you need to go cancel it at the immigration office that issued it to you.

Are you on an extension of stay?

please update the post when you find out. Some of us have the same query

Your extension of stay will be made invalid as soon as you leave. You have to cancel that and then under normal circumstances you would apply for a covid19 extension with embassy letter (Immigration still accepting them if you can get it).

If the law passes (which it has not today yet), then you shouldn’t have to do anything (maybe cancel).
