What does the comment from the immigration officer at Suvarnabhumi Airport regarding 'dtv' imply?

Our first re-entry through Suvarnabhumi a few days ago.

Family of four with two kids. No paperwork asked for, however; the officer said to us while smirking:

'dtv huh, wow, you're brave with this one'

As much as i'd love to ask him what he was talking about I obviously said nothing. Bizarre.
Summary so far
A traveler describes their recent re-entry into Thailand through Suvarnabhumi Airport, where an immigration officer made a curious comment about 'dtv' that left the traveler puzzled. The post sparked a debate among commenters, with some dismissing the encounter as unlikely and others discussing the difference between visa runs and border runs, as well as the implications of the 'dtv' visa type. The discussion highlights differing experiences and opinions on immigration processes in Thailand.

When you live your life online as a troll and can't even do that well there isn't much left for you. Maybe you could still become a DJ for kids birthday parties....

What's really strange is the officer spoke in perfect East Anglia accent. He then unfolded his wings and flew away towards moscow.

Once I landed at the airport, left the gate and an officer asked me "Where are you going, bro?" So I'm not surprised. Anything is possible

Well you are essentially on a tourist visa with visa runs involved where you are at mercy of an IO to be let back in or not. Most people would not move a family overseas like this hence why he is saying its brave.

A visa run is when you leave the country to apply for a new visa.

SereneZebra9074 BORDER RUN versus VISA RUN difference

People usually interchange the terms 'border run', and 'visa run' with no issues,

BUT I'm here to tell you they are two completely different things. 😮

Now that the land borders with MOST countries are open for exit/entry (Myanmar and Cambodia land borders are still closed both ways) I thought it prudent we go over the terms of what's what.

*** BORDER RUN:

A “border runner” is going to a border or fly to another country, and on the way stamps out of Thailand.

He stamps into another country.

Now he theoretically can turn around and stamp right back into Thailand. This would be a “same day border bounce”.

Or he stays in that country for a few nights or even weeks, before he re-enters Thailand visa-exempt, again.

This would still be a “border run” by the meaning of the word.

A “border run” means you first exit, and then re-enter Thailand on a visa exempt entry.

Or you leave and by re-entering you activate another stay permit you are elegible to, if you hold on a valid multi-entry visa, like the DTV, a multi-entry Tourist Visa or if you are on a 1-year extension of stay for which you bought a re-entry permit.

*** VISA RUN:

A “visa run” means that you exit Thailand either by land, sea or air, and enter another country with the intention to apply through the Thai Embassy’s or Consulate’s E-Visa online system for a specific visa type for Thailand.

A visa run requires you to prove in the application that you are physically inside the country where you apply, and you need to remain in this country until the visa gets granted and issued.

SereneZebra9074 that's wrong. It could not be more wrong. A visarun and a border run are two very different things
