What is the processing time for the DTV application from the UK?
My current visa runs out soon and I want to move to the DTV. I understand the changes and I am happy to go back to the UK to apply.
But all the sources I have read say that the UK takes five weeks to process. But in this group (and my other friends here in Thailand) have 1-2 week processing times.
Has anyone experiences the DTV process in London? is it really five weeks long?

Also depends upon the time of year. December tends to be high season, with tons of visa applications, holidays and people on leave. So if that is the time you plan to apply, take that into account

I have seen a couple of people on here claiming to have been approved in London in a very quick time frame (like 4 days), however there is now the requirement of the criminal record check which will add a good few weeks on to that total process.

I thought a DBS was required which took 3 days. I’ve only just learned about the ACRO! I’ve now applied for that.. another £70. They sent an email saying maybe processed in 30 days🙄Copper*******

It's going to take at least 5 weeks to get your Police Certificate.

ACRO takes 30 working days so apply for that now, once you have that you can apply for the visa which will take around 10 working days so you will get the visa around mid November at the latest

ACRO report for criminal clearance is about 30 days but you could start that now. No need to wait till in the UK to start.
