I’m planning to move to Bangkok in January. Is the Thai Privilege Card worth purchasing as a visa? Or would i be better off just doing the DTV and renewing after 5 years?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether the Thai Privilege Card (Elite Visa) is worth purchasing compared to the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). Comments suggest that while the Elite Visa offers convenience and removes certain bureaucratic requirements, it comes at a high cost, making it less appealing for average expats. The DTV, on the other hand, is viewed as a more economical choice but has stricter banking requirements and is subject to changes. Additionally, the Long-Term Resident Visa (LTR) is mentioned as another alternative for those who qualify.

Elite Visa is great if you have the deep pockets for it.

For the average person the DTV is inexpensive.

It depends on you…the Elite visa cuts out so much BS that the DTV incorporates into it…example with the Elite you don’t need a minimum amount in your bank acct at all times, this comes into effect if you want to chillax in Thailand and not leave for a year while with the DTV you have to show the DTV minimum in a Thai bank acct when getting an extension plus it has to be seasoned…with the elite you get fast track at immigration which is great when you see the long lines…yes you pay for it but it’s basically cut out BS…the DTV is forever changing
