Some useful info regarding how things done are in the Samut Prakan immigration office. After you fill in your TM.30 (residence notification) and get the receipt, you do not have to get the landlord to sign another form after coming back into the country, they just add a stamp and signature to your original receipt. Just make sure you do it within 24 hours of coming back to your house, bring your plane ticket/hotel receipt if you came in at the weekend or stayed in another province and make sure you have the TM.6 departure card because they use the information on that.
Also some info on a visa extension based on marriage. A friend of mine did this after border bouncing for 15 months. He had fill in a TM.30 from his landlord (his wife) and because he didn't know about it like myself, had to pay 1000 baht fine. He also brought with him the marriage certificate, wife's thai i/d, her house book listing, a filled out TM.7 and a passport photo. But what he wasn't expecting was them wanting to take a photo of his 10 month old son, we have no idea why they wanted to do that. But he got his extension. His visa will last 17 months from the original visa issue date as will mine when I go to do it in 3 months' time.
