Hi my partner and I are planning on coming from uk to Thailand for 6 weeks early next year and have discovered our annual worldwide multitrip travel insurance will not cover us for over 31 days. We are both in our 70s and I have tried to see if we could get a single trip cover and that turned out to be £1100+. My question is I'm wondering if we could we just get medical cover from a thai insurance to cover us? Or any other ideas. Thanks in advance

My mother is in Thailand at present, she thought her platinum credit card covered her for travel insurance but it doesnt, anyone know if she can at least get a medical cover whilst she is over there?

She is 85 from UK and I have tried to get her cover from UK but can’t find anything as most companies only cover already travelled if below the age of 74!

Thanks in advance.

I am wondering if anyone may know the answer to my question. I already live in Thailand and my Italian father is applying from Italy for the retirement O/A Visa. We are trying to find a local insurance company for him to get insurance from so he can properly fill out the visa application form (he already has global Cigna insurance but it doesn't seem like that is what the application form is for). The next hurdle is finding a local insurance company that covers people 83 years old and up, especially that accepts people that age in their first application (as opposed to a renewal). He is still very adventurous :) Has anyone found a solution to finding an insurance company to get coverage with from abroad for the application process that accepts people that age? Thank you.

Trying to apply for Non Immigrant o visa to Thailand. The form is asking for a health insurance policy covering treatment and medical expenses related to COVID 19 with minimum coverage of $100,000. Questions 1 is coverage that high still required? I have read that Thailand pass only requires $10k. 2 If not required, what is needed to satisfy the upload? 3. Any recommendations for insurance as I am 75y/o? 4. I plan to live in Thailand once the 90 days are up and i deposit the 400k baht so how long must I have the insurance for?

Today I went to immigration in Chiang Mai for extension of my non immigrant O-A VISA.

Now they asked me for papers so they can see I have insurance. I have some insurance at Muang Thai I said but they said no, you have to have insurance with one of the 14 listed Thai companies.

Okay, so I applied with one of them. For me not a big deal but I spoke with my Irish neighbor and asked if he knew about this. He is much older then me, 77 years old and to get insurance at that age is very difficult and expensive.

Does anyone know if there is an age limit to this new law or knows a way to get an insurance at that age??

Good afternoon folks, and my apologies if this has been already asked... I'm sure that there are other people out there with the same problem.

My wife and I have been here on non-Immigrant O retirement visas for several years. We have never purchased health insurance.

My understanding is that on our next renewal we will need to get it. The problem is that we are 68 and 72 years old, and I don't believe any insurance company here offers it to people over 65, except for renewals. Does anybody have any advice on this?
