TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks recommendations for health insurance options in Thailand for a 72-year-old individual with existing medical issues. Several commenters suggest specific companies like LMG and SBC, as well as contacting experienced brokers such as Eric Dohlon and Mon at Abacus Associates. There's a discussion around challenges faced by seniors in obtaining insurance, particularly regarding pre-existing conditions, with some pointing out that public healthcare exists but may not suffice for visa requirements. Alternatives like moratorium health insurance are mentioned, which allows for coverage without declaring pre-existing conditions upfront. Overall, the conversation emphasizes the need for thorough research and caution in choosing an insurance provider.

Keep in mind Insurance for foreigners is still new & thais only care about getting your money, so absolutely nothing is regulated. Though given a PM that was more about buying a Submarine for himself than helping his own people during Covid is not very convincing of a country that cares if you get screwed.

I’m still looking, lots of companies lying now about what’s covered & how much is paid out. Whomever recommends, you need ‘vet’ yourself and believe or not.

If you struggle to find insurance because of their pre-existing conditions or age you can use this comparison site for Moratorium Health Insurance from Insurance Reviews Asia.
With moratorium underwriting, you don't have to tell insurers about any health issues before cover starts. Instead, they'll only ask for your medical history when you make a claim. When you claim the insurer will decide if the condition was pre-existing and whether it can be covered.

Me too they don't want to know especially at our age 😒
I would suggest a local insurance broker to show you all the different companies offering different options and prices that can be tailored to your needs. Some company like Igloo insurance brokers, AA insurance brokers, Chaz insurance brokers, or Lawton Asia insurance brokers. You can find them online.
