I have a question for the expats living in Thailand? From my observation and experience, is it common for wives to basically disregard their husbands, and carry on almost a single life? But still act as married? I have noticed Thai men who seem to always be waiting for their wives? I have also had this happen to me, although I am not married, or in a relationship! I am not suggesting anything is going on, but I was wondering why any man would bother, as it seemed he is really single? Please just constructive feedback, if possible?

Sorry if this is a little long winded.

I am a UK citizen with a Spanish residency NIE card. I am marrying a Thai lady soon in the UK, and we would like to go to Spain after we marry.

My question is: does she need to return to Thailand to obtain a visa for Spain or can she apply here in the UK or can she travel with me without a visa because we are married and I have a residency permit.?

Thanks

Asking for advice.

It has been along time since I have done a visa run. I am married to a thai, have a child and the right amount of money in my bank account for a 1 year visa. (wanting a multi entry O visa based on wife and child)

1. Is there any country that provides the 1 year out side of country???

The reason I ask is I have some faint memory of being able to do 1 year visas in Vietnam. But maybe I am dreaming 😅

I *think* this is good advice for American men planning to get married to a Thai national.

When at the US embassy getting your freedom to marry affidavit, bring your wife's passport with you and get a certified copy.

It's useful/necessary for filing tax US tax forms.

I said *think* because I have not yet filed US tax.

I entered Thailand with a single entry tourist visa and extended it once for 30 days. Now my gf and I married and I wanted to extend it for 60 days based on marriage. As far as I know I can do that right? The officer at CW said he wasn`t sure, but I had to bring my wife with me.

In regard to the documents, is there anything I am missing?

* TM7/ Passport/ TM6/ entry stamp/ E-visa printed out

* ID Card of my wife/marriage certificates/tambien baan/TM30

* 1900THB

Thanks a lot

Yesterday we went to the Immigration Office to extend my 90 day Non-O Visa based on Marriage. Well as it turns out we have to go back again in about 2 weeks as: we turned up and dealt with a very nice Immigration lady, but: 1) we came too early, must have used at least 45 days on our 90 day Non-O visa, 2) when we come back, need an updated bankbook and letter from the bank, 3) update blue book at Amphoe-a small name change 4) updated marriage certificate from Amphoe showing that we are still married; it will be a stamp on this certificate. All doable. Immigration was very patient and helpful with us.

Question for a non-o visa year extension based on marriage.

The 400,000 THB in the bank account. Does that need to be in the bank account for 60+ days when you apply at immigration or before your visa expires?

Looking at options with the amnesty but times running out for me to get money in my account for the 60 day requirement.
